one more thing, there was that patch I sent you, about masking the
high order bit on the return codes on the system() call.<br>
I don't know if this is an AMD64 thing, a freebsd thing, or what.
but I verified that it is also in the barnyard2 code that Paul is
currently distributing (the current barnyard2).<br>

I will be sending him those patches also, but I was wondering if you
want them in the upstream as a #ifdef FREEBSD.. <br>
or, just add it in. from the man page, the rc should be 8 bit only
anyway.<br>
