[Oisf-devel] about libhtp releases

Hi,

Since version 0.8.1 libhtp is now shipped with suricata (in particular,
in the tarball).
This causes a few problems for packaging suricata in distributions,
especially for handling version numbers:
- suricata 0.8.1 does not build with older libhtp
- however, version of libhtp is not so clear:
  configure states 0.2.X,
  resulting so name is libhtp-0.2.so.1.0.2 while this number is lesser
  than the website states (0.2.1)

So which one is correct ? :)

Including libhtp in the same sources is not really a problem, but the
problem is whether you always do releases of both projects at the same
time or if you keep another release schema (in this case, maybe it would
be nice to keep providing separate tarballs for libhtp even if you
include one ..)
