[Oisf-users] Recommendation on updating when compiling from source

Hi Community,

What precautions do you recommend for updating Suricata when the
installation method is compiling from source. Specifically

How do you track orphan files?
How do you ensure no conflict occurs?
Do you mind the older version laying around?

or any other steps you take to ensure a clean upgrade?
