 You are right that libhtp 0.2.x branch is bundled.

But the revision number in 0.2.x branches is [179],
 0.2.3 tags is [183], but  in trunk it is [230] at 2010-05-30 .


Some memory leaks and segment fault has been fixd.

I think maybe ivanr can tell which is "stable".

When is the next relase of suricata?
