[Oisf-devel] Re2 support

Hi,

I'm looking at a masters degree thesis which compares performance of various IDS systems and am planning on investigating/developing support for re2 in either Snort or Suricata as part of the report. Has anyone attempted this in the past? I can't see anything on the roadmap for Suricata, though I did see that re2 libraries are in C++ and Suricata is in straight C but I figure with time I may be able to work around this via wrappers etc. 

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
