[Oisf-users] git on http port

It seems that suricata git repository is accessible only with the GIT 
uri, as in
# git clone git://phalanx.openinfosecfoundation.org/oisf.git

Is it possible to move the git repository to a http port, or some 
ports more reachable from inside a firewalled environment, like 8080 ?
