sudo make install actually installs libhtp and the suricata binary into
your system. You *can* run it from the source directory, but this is not
recommended or supported.

The make install-conf is a convenience function. It sets up your config,
pulls ET open, creates the log dir, etc. make install-full does both
make install and make install-conf.
